Did you know?

The Grand Pavilion – The Best restaurant in Sydney is famous for making the tandoori chicken in the way that the maximum flavours can be obtained.

How exactly does Tandoori-Chicken Taste?

Although it is impossible to describe the taste of the dish in words, we still try to do some effort.

  • First of all, no word other than ‘Heavenly Tasty” can describe how I felt when I had it for the first time.
  • The marination of the dish is prepared to make it more healthy. The Indian herbs and spices which are used in the marination preparation are handpicked after making sure that they are naturally grown and harvested. As they are ground fresh, nothing can beat the mesmerising aroma.

Do you want to know our secret?

The tandoori chicken comes out to be extremely juicy as it is marinated in the following ingredients:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Lemon Zest
  • Freshly prepared Garam Masala
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Roasted Cumin and Carom Seeds (Ground)
  • Red Chilli Powder (Kashmiri)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Onion Powder
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Ground Coriander

Why is Tandoori Chicken so “Tasty” and “Authentic”?

It is acceptable that there are so many methods to marinate the chicken as every chef has different beliefs and Taste IQ concerning ingredients. Thus, it becomes possible to bring out the flavour of the particular region. When the flavours get associated with the geographical units, then authenticity is sure to be found in the dishes and the recipes.

As far as the taste is concerned, the choice of the ingredients along with the tandoori technique in the preparation is the major secret for the great taste.

Do you know anything about ‘Origin Of Tandoori Chicken’?

The prefix of this dish has come from the vessel in which it is made – ‘Tandoor’. It is a bell-shaped, wood-fired or coal type clay oven. It is the traditional vessel in which chicken was made.

Since people like to experience the softness and the juiciness from the chicken, no other way is better than cooking it in Tandoor.

Tandoor is responsible for providing the additional taste elements:

Smoky Taste

The flavours and the juices get locked.

Which chicken-cut is good for ‘GRILLED TANDOORI CHICKEN’?

Leg Quarters with skin removed are the best cuts for the tandoori chicken. Such cuts do have great fat to become moist and get grilled at high heat.

It is only this cut of the chicken that has the potential to absorb the numerous flavours.

Final Comments!

If you are the one who has never tasted tandoori chicken, then please ‘Go-on & Try it’. You are guaranteed to like it. Just have a bite and it is assumed that you are going to have the full.

What kind of Indian cuisine is better – North Indian or South Indian?

Loading

There arrived a foodie-customer in our Indian Restaurant in Terrigal. After diving into the flavours of both northern and southern Indian dishes, he insisted on meeting our chefs.

When he met me, he said, “I have never tasted this kind of food, which I have ordered. I read something on the menu – ‘North-Indian’ and ‘South-Indian’. I wanted to have them because the pictures of these dishes got water in my mouth. On tasting those dishes, I must say that you all are not chefs, rather the Food-Gods. But yes please, tell me the difference between North Indian and South Indian cuisine.”

Here is the extract of how our chefs answered his question:

Note: If you are also willing to taste the Out-Of-The-World Indian cuisine, then please visit “The Grand Pavilion – The best Indian restaurant in Sydney.”

North-Indian South Indian
Here is what you are going to find in the North Indian region South Indian cuisine is opposite to north Indian cuisine. In north India, breads are staples that are consumed along with vegetables. But in south Indian cuisine, it is the rice only that is served along with the vegetable stew.
Salient Dishes North India is famous for the sundry variations in the breads and the curries. Some of the examples of the most-relished dishes are as follow:

  • Naan Bread
  • Rotis
  • Samosas
  • Palak Paneer
  • Aloo Gobi
The south Indian meal is completely based on the following:

  • Rice
  • Lentils
  • Stews

The most customary items in south Indian cuisine may include the following:

  • Dosa
  • Idli
  • Saaru/Rasam
  • Sambar
Sour Ingredients One of the most prevalent flavours in Indian food is the amazing pinch of sourness. To attain the great sourness, amchoor is used. Tamarind is used in the stews.
Dried Herbs When it is North Indian food, then there are a variety of sauces that incorporate the use of the dried fenugreek leaves. When it is about the dried herbs, then the dried curry leaves are being used as the biggest flavouring agent in the soups or the stews.
Hot Drinks When it is north Indian cuisine, then we are talking about the food that always ends with chai, milk or coffee. In south Indian cuisine, it is the coffee alone that makes the people go wow for it.
Spice Mix Garam Masala Hudi Powder

Final Comments!

No matter whether it is about the south or the north Indian cuisine. Each one of them is popular because of its distinctive taste and aroma. We can’t compare both of these. As the unique things and cuisines can never be compared.

If you have got the water in your mouth and want to dine in on the Indian food, then make sure you are ordering both the north Indian and the south Indian dishes.

Calories in an Indian Thali – Chapati, Dal, Sabzi, Gulab Jamun & many more

Loading

When we are referring to the calories, then we are referring to the particular unit of the energy that will be consumed by our bodies from specific food items. In today’s blog, we are going to count the calories present in an Indian Thali.

According to the chefs of the Indian restaurant in Terrigal, “ An Indian Thali is the group of the food items that are presented together in a particular palate. The contents of each thali are different based on the regions.”

Let’s read out the calories aspect about India thali, as per the chefs practising in the famous Indian restaurant in Sydney.

Let us estimate the count.

Estimation

For the estimation, we have taken the food items which are predominantly found in maximum ordered Indian Thalis.

  • Chapati or Paratha

The calorie count of the chapati is different from that of the paratha. We are considered the calories, based on the following assumptions:

The size of the item would be medium

Both the items will be made of the whole-wheat

  • Chapati – 80 Calories
  • Paratha -130 Calories
  • Rice

Here we are considering 1 cup of rice, which is cooked with any of the techniques (boiling or frying).

1 cup of rice – 206 calories

  • Dry vegetable dish

This food item has many variations including:

  • Potatoes
  • Cabbage
  • Lady-Finger

Each of them may contain a calorie count which figures around -150 calories

  • Dal

Dal (pulses) as we all know, is considered the healthy alternative to the fried vegetable. So the calorie count is maybe around 105.

  • Curd

In every 100 grams of the curd, you will get 95 calories

  • Sweet dishes

The Indian sweet dishes are known for having the highest amount of calories. When we are talking about gulab jamun and jalebi, then we are darting at 150.

Overall Count

Ordering Indian thali means ordering 1000 calories

What is the need to count the calories?

  • To meet the weight goal

The calorie count becomes a huge matter of concern when the individual is heading towards the achievement of the weight control goal.

  • To keep your body healthy

When we are carefully estimating the calorie count before consuming the particular food item, then we have become a bit careful for ourselves so that it becomes easy and convenient for us to avoid the following:

  • Obesity
  • Cardiovascular Issues
  • Disciplined Eating

If we are keeping a regular check on the calories, then it indicates our discipline towards our food habits.

  • Knowledge enhancement

People who are in the habit of counting calories regularly do have more knowledge about the food and the nutritional benefits of the same.

What are the disadvantages of counting calories before consumption?

  • Unhealthy diet consumption

If the calorie-oriented diet plan is not executed properly, then we may suffer from either over or underweight problems.

  • Frustrating concept

Initially, it will seem pleasant. But gradually you will get frustrated to count the calories.
